Grandma's 85th Birthday

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of making a dessert table for a very special woman in my life, my grandmother turned 85 so we threw a party to celebrate. I was given free range for the desserts, so I made a variety of different desserts including chocolate pumpkin bread pudding, vanilla cake pops, mini apple pies, salted caramel shooters, mini red velvet whoopie pies, mini key lime tarts, and cookies with Reese cup centers. The cake itself was spice cake with cream cheese icing. Yum!
The party theme was garden so the cake had a rose icing pattern and, the cake pops looked like real roses in a flower tin.
The colors for the party were light green and pink so I tried to keep all of the desserts and cake plates in that color palate.

I love these mini apple pies!

Here are some party goers posing with my grandmother.
My nephew stealing some candy! Good thing he is so cute!

 Cutting the cake!
Happy Birthday Grandma. I hope you enjoyed your party!

P.S. I've always wanted to know how to do a topsy turvy cake and now I do! Yeah! Thx

You do some amazing stuff! I've been trying to read up on topsy turvy cakes and stumbled on your blog. I was wondering if you would share your white cake recipe. I've been stuggling to find a sturdy one that isn't dry. Thanks a bunch!!
